Universal Ai University, India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) University has announced a unique collaboration with Vitti Foundation, India’s first non-profit organisation dedicated for research AI and Robotics in India. With this, Universal Ai University has expanded its research and development capabilities in the study and academics of Artificial Intelligence.
The joint venture has been named as ‘Univitt AI Technologies’ and it has set up India’s first Artificial Intelligence Innovation Excellence Centre called as ‘Artificial Intelligence, Emerging & Foundational Technologies (AIEFT) Innovation Hub’ at its Green Campus in Karjat near Mumbai. This way, India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) University and the country’s first umbrella research organisation on AI and Robotics, has come together to unleash the vast research and development opportunities and emerging technologies in the field of AI and related avenues.
Commenting on the development, Prof. Sriram Ramshanker, Pro – Vice Chancellor, Universal Ai University said, “This is the first kind of academia and community partnership where two centers of excellences will work together to explore immense opportunities in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Emerging Technologies. Together, we will focus on enabling the inventors and entrepreneurs to convert their ideas into reality by using the expertise of both the expert institutes.”
Explaining the rationale of this partnership, Mr Kundana Lal, Founder of Vitti Foundation said, “Vitti Research Foundation is dedicated to building AIEFT innovation capacity and capability across India for a better cost arbitrage for AI and emerging tech-based training and development of products, platforms, projects. Under our joint initiative at Univitt, together, we are not only building AI innovation capabilities; but also supporting the industry and strengthening industry-academia relationship benefiting students and faculty in embedding and enhancing in-campus AIEFT related skill-sets.”
Univitt AI Technologies will help the stakeholders of the programme to harness the power of emerging technologies to bolster the fair use of AI for the public good, strengthen participation of the industry and policy-makers, chart out ways for ethical governance in AI and incubate, mentor and fund startups in the AI, Data Analytics and Robotics fields. The joint venture will further unlock the power of AI, Machine Learning (ML), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Internet of Things (IoT) and other emerging technologies that will disrupt the industry and enable organisations to stay ahead of the competition and customers’ demands.
As a first step in forging the alliance, Univitt AI Technologies organized a two-day workshop titled ‘AI Foundations for Shipbuilding Excellence’ at the University’s Karjat Campus. Choosing the ship-building industry, the workshop enlightened the participants with practical AI and ML knowledge tailored to the shipbuilding industry. Aimed at applying AI into ship-building challenges, the workshop included hands-on sessions on topics such as AI concepts, data visualization, and Generative AI toolsets, Real-world case studies focusing on predictive maintenance, safety enhancement, and workflow optimization with Focused modules on data processing, visualization using tools like Power BI, and AI-driven problem-solving for various functions.
Universal AI University, being India’s first AI University and a gateway to the future of technology, has been expanding its academic and industry-enabled horizons from the recent past. Besides providing a cutting–edge and AI-enabled curriculum through its various schools, it has introduced various future-shaping academic programmes. It recently partnered with a technology major LTIMindtree for commencing India’s first industry- oriented B. Tech. programme in AI & ML and Data Science while it pioneered India’s first state-of-the-art AI – enabled Sound and Music School in alliance with SoundIdeaz to start a B. Tech. curriculum in Sound Engineering. Becoming the first University in India to appoint a foreign national as its Vice Chancellor, Universal AI University named Dr Simon Mak, Silicon – Valley Strategist and Academician as its Vice Chancellor. The University is backed by 60 Global CEOs and provides a strong infrastructure with Hi-Tech Quantum Computing, AR, VR, MR, IoT Labs and Thomson Reuters Global Trading Room for extending an immersive on-campus learning experience to the students.
