The much-anticipated Cybersecurity Bootcamp, a six-month residential cybersecurity training program, has been launched at SDI Bhubaneswar, in the presence of senior representatives from one of the world`s leading consulting firms and CEOs of prominent infrastructure conglomerates.
Notably, participation of female candidates in the annual residential bootcamp has increased by around 49% this year, as compared to the previous batch.
The bootcamp has been organized by iAspire Mind Foundation, in collaboration with the leading consulting firm and SDI Bhubaneswar, this unique initiative has brought together 360 aspiring Cyber Warriors from 20+ states across India. Notably, the program boasts almost 50% female participation, representing diverse parts of the country.
The bootcamp has provided a platform for women from Tier II and Tier III cities to break into the cybersecurity industry, which has traditionally been male-dominated. The female participants have witnessed remarkable talent and dedication, and are now equipped with the skills and knowledge to pursue successful careers in cybersecurity.
The bootcamp follows a systematic approach by connecting with the participants and their parents through the college TPOs (Placement Officers), where interest has been generated as the bootcamp gives an assurance of job post completion of cybersecurity training subject to discipline towards the program, good conduct and more importantly clearance of Nasscom or sector skill council assessments.
The Cybersecurity Residential Bootcamp offers participants the opportunity to secure employment with a globally renowned Big 4 consulting firm-without requiring them to pay for the program. Instead, participants are expected to dedicate themselves fully to the bootcamp while continuing their academic programs. Admission to the bootcamp was through a rigorous National Level Aptitude Assessment, which included coding tests, language tests, and personal interviews to ensure the highest quality intake.
The Cybersecurity Residential Bootcamp is specifically designed to address the cybersecurity talent gap while fostering diversity and empowering participants from varied backgrounds. Many of the participants hail from families involved in farming, weaving, teaching, or small businesses, demonstrating the program`s commitment to inclusivity and social impact.
The curriculum is designed to address the cybersecurity talent gap, with 80% of the modules focused on hands-on training using advanced cybersecurity tools. These modules cover critical areas such as threat detection and response, application security, digital identity, cloud security, and other emerging technologies. In addition to technical skills, the bootcamp places a strong emphasis on English communication and soft skills, ensuring participants are adept at reading, writing, speaking, and listening in business contexts-essential for meeting the industry’s expectations for client interactions in the technology space.
The program includes periodic assessments, culminating in the NASSCOM Sector Skills Certification, which serves as a benchmark for learning and ensures participants are well-positioned to secure immediate employment. From over one lakh applicants, only 360 candidates were selected, highlighting the program`s exclusivity and focus on quality.
