Rajbanshi Talent Sajal Barman’s Debut – Babai Sen’s Mihira Released Alongside Jolly LLB 3, Yet Secures Prime Shows

Mumbai, India – The much-talked-about bilingual feature film Mihira, directed by Babai Sen and produced by Chandana Barman (CS Entertainment), has created waves across India within its very first week. Releasing in the same week as the highly anticipated Bollywood blockbuster Jolly LLB 3, Mihira has not only held its ground but also successfully secured prime show slots across theatres in multiple states. This is being hailed as a remarkable milestone for a Bengali-Hindi bilingual film competing head-to-head with Bollywood giants.

A Historic Debut for Sajal Barman

The film marks the acting debut of young Rajbanshi talent Sajal Barman, stepping into the world of cinema for the first time. Alongside him, Arshi Sen (daughter of director Babai Sen) plays a special role, adding emotional resonance to the story. Veteran actors Kharaj Bandopadhyay and Chitrali Das also enrich the cast with their powerful performances.

Rahul Roy in His First Bengali Film

Another major highlight of Mihira is the presence of Bollywood superstar Rahul Roy. Known as the unforgettable hero of the 1990 cult classic Aashiqui, he now makes his first-ever entry into Bengali cinema through Mihira. His inclusion has elevated the film’s stature and drawn attention across both the Bengali and Hindi film industries.

Competing with Jolly LLB 3

Despite being released alongside Jolly LLB 3 – one of Bollywood’s most awaited films of 2025 – Mihira has surprised trade experts by emerging as a strong competitor. Securing prime-time screenings in several multiplexes and single screens alike, Mihira has proven that regional cinema, when made with passion and depth, can stand tall against mainstream Bollywood releases.

Phase One & Phase Two – Curiosity and Revelation

Mihira has sparked nationwide curiosity. Phase One left audiences with emotional highs and unanswered questions. Those questions will only find resolution in Phase Two, which has already been completed and will be unveiled soon.

To truly experience Mihira, audiences must watch the journey from start to finish – as every question has its answer hidden within the story.

 Music & Technical Excellence

The film’s music is composed by Som Suman, with playback by Raj Barman, Renisa, and others. Bharat Midde managed editing, while the makeup team featured Shatabdi Midde and Diya Roy.

Gratitude & Collaborations

Special thanks were extended to the Chairman, SP, IC, and DM of Cooch Behar, as well as the people of the region. Director Babai Sen and Producer Chandana Barman expressed heartfelt gratitude to the entire team, especially Casting Director Somnath Mondal (Kolkata Casting Academy), Executive Producer Krishna Mondal (ARK Media Entertainment), and Arshi Group of Company.

Rajbanshi Culture & Music

One of the unique highlights of Mihira is its songs in the Rajbanshi language, presented in both Bengali and Hindi versions. This cultural touch has strongly resonated with audiences nationwide.

The film also features a special appearance by Arshi Sen, daughter of director Babai Sen, representing the Arshi Group of Company, named after her.

“Mihira is not just a film; it is an emotional journey. Bringing Rajbanshi culture to the national stage is our proudest achievement,” – said Director Babai Sen.
